Alzheimer’s Is No Longer An Old Person’s Disease…It’s Preventable and Reversible.

Alzheimer’s is not a disease…it is the end stage of a decades-long negative progression; states Dr. Michael Merzenich, ‘World Authority on Brain Health’. Alzheimer’s as of April 2022 is now classified in the category of an Auto immune disorder; it can be prevented and is treatable. There are seven stages of Alzheimer’s and the first five can be reversed and some of the memory can be regained.

The factors that contribute to Autoimmune disorders that affect the body and the brain are multiple. Some examples are high sugar diet, environmental toxins, infections, stress, trauma, lack of sleep, chemicals, etc. Even young children are being diagnosed with what used to be a disease of the elderly, that is terrifying. Toxic gut stimulates toxic body and thus induces toxic brain. The brain is the most sensitive organ of the body and needs profound and immediate protection.

What is neurodegenerative disease? It is a progressive loss of structure of neurons (nerves), including the death of those cells; which then result in such diseases or degeneration of the brain and nervous system. Some examples are: Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Lewey Body Dementia, Alzheimer’s/Dementia, Parkinson’s, MS, Lupus, Cognitive decline, Mood disorders, Depression, Anxiety, and the list goes on.

Neurodegenerative occurs at any age and most are considered Autoimmune disorders. Neurodegenerative and Autoimmune are not paralleled but are considered in the same category. The sudden increase of these conditions became more apparent in the 1990’s at the same time GMO food crops hit the markets as well as an increase in the use of toxic chemicals, such as pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers. Air pollution indoors as well as outdoors also affects the brain.

The number one component of Alzheimer’s dysregulation is poor diet. This is critical. Brain and neurofunction is so important and atrophy of the brain is part of this process of optimal functioning…why is it atrophying? Conclusive results, it’s not just the aging death of cells, it’s the part with the excess glucose levels, because another name for Alzheimer’s is Type 3 Diabetes.  So, consider the role that sugar is playing in the diet. Define sugar: it’s bread, pasta, noodles, rice, grains, oats, wheat, rye, corn, potatoes including chips, and other starches. Protect the brain and avoid these products like a plague. Even deeper, alcohol which is all sugar and so are highly processed foods. The average person in the United States consumes 100 lbs. of sugar/year. You have to stop doing what got you sick before your body can respond to wellness…change is the key factor.

In my own case,  the two components that kept me trapped in cognitive decline and depression were sugars and stress. I had to combat these first. Now, the problem seems to be coming in epidemic proportions folks, so beware. There is so much more on brain health and protecting our brains that this month’s newsletter cannot hold; check in the book’s resource link that follows: http://frombirthuntilsunset.com/resources/
and also other healthy nutritional sources on-line, library and bookstores. This is so important and I will continue to update you as well in future newsletter
